Anya Edun, Ph.D.
Vice President, People & Culture at Dart
As an Industrial and Organisational (I/O) Psychologist, Anya specialises in helping businesses achieve success by strategically focusing on the company’s greatest asset – its people.
At the start of her career, Anya assisted with the design, facilitation, and evaluation of leadership training programmes and surveys, serving as a Research Assistant at Florida International University’s (FIU) Center for Leadership in Miami, FL. Following her time at the FIU Center for Leadership, she began working internationally as a Field Trainer at Starboard Cruise Services, a Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) company. She trained and developed staff from all corners of the globe aboard cruise ships.
Her time at Starboard exposed her to the travel retail and hospitality industry, which ultimately led her career to Cayman in 2013 as the Learning & Development Manager for Active Capital Ltd., the retail and hospitality arm of Dart.
In 2015, Anya graduated with a Ph.D. and Master’s of Science in I/O Psychology from FIU. This is the study of human behaviour in the workplace. The theories and scientific methods of psychology are applied to issues of critical relevance to business, both at the individual and organizational level, to improve the well-being and performance of people and the organizations that employ them.
Today, Anya is the Vice President, People & Culture at Dart – one of Cayman’s largest private sector entities. She provides strategic direction and oversight to the Human Resources function, leading her team, and providing services to over 400 employees across varying industries and disciplines.
When not at work, Anya spends her time with friends and family, including her 6-year-old son and 4-year-old twin girls. It is safe to say there is never a dull moment in her household.
Reinaldo Fletcher
Manager of Labour Market Demand at WORC
Reinaldo Fletcher is the Manager of Labour Market Demand at Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman where he is entrusted with providing strategic advice on labour market matters as well as leading the dissemination of data on the labour needs of the Cayman Islands to stakeholders.
Over fifteen years’ experience with the Economics and Statistics Office in Cayman, the Planning Institute of Jamaica, the Statistical Institute of Jamaica and the Bank of Jamaica has provided him with the necessary skills in research, data analysis, economic modelling, technical writing, presenting findings to senior leadership and building strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
Additionally, Reinaldo has over ten years’ experience lecturing students in Economics and Statistics at the tertiary level with the University of the West Indies and the International College of the Cayman Islands. Reinaldo also holds an MSc in Economics and BSc in Economics and Statistics (Hons) from the University of the West Indies Mona Campus along with multiple certifications from other accredited institutions.
In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with family, friends, travelling, watching sports and playing football.
J.F. Richard Hew
President & CEO of CUC
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1988, Richard immediately joined Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. He quickly rose through the ranks at CUC and during a brief study leave in 1997 obtained the degree of Master of Business Administration at Wilfred Laurier University, Ontario, Canada. He was appointed President & CEO in 2005.
Richard is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. He currently serves on the Boards of Fortis Turks & Caicos, R3 Cayman Foundation, Caring for Life Foundation and as chairman of the Cayman Youth Football Leagues. He has previously served on the board of directors of Newfoundland Power, Canada and CARILEC, the regional organisation of electric utilities and associate partners.
Richard is also an avid sportsperson and has represented the Cayman Islands in football and squash.
Louise Reed
Managing Director of CML
Louise Reed is a distinguished leader in the recruitment and human resources sector, currently serving as the Managing Director of the CML Group of companies. With over two decades of experience, Louise has been instrumental in the growth and success of CML Offshore Recruitment, Nova Recruitment, and the non-profit Connect by Nova. Her expertise in steering the companies’ strategic direction, coupled with her commitment to diversity, inclusivity and local career development, has established her as a visionary in the industry.
Louise’s journey with CML began in 2009 as a Recruitment Consultant, where she managed financial services recruitment for eight years. Her remarkable track record led to the expansion of the CML Group, with the founding of Nova Recruitment in 2016 and Connect by Nova in 2020, both of which focus on career development and training for the Cayman community.
A staunch advocate for gender equality, Louise is a founding member of NPO Gender Equality Cayman and served as its Co-Chairperson for four years. Her dedication to talent development is also evident from her six-year tenure as a Director for the Board of The Cayman Islands Human Resources professionals. Louise’s academic credentials include a degree in Business and Finance and executive programs in leadership at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School.
Dr. Robert W. Robertson
President and CEO of UCCI
Dr. Robertson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the University College of the Cayman Islands (2022- ); and, he is a Senior Research Fellow, School of Advanced Studies, Commonwealth Institute, University of London (2022-2025). He served as the first President (2016-2022) of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute; and, he has more than twenty-five years of experience leading award-winning academic institutions in Canada, the United States, Central Asia and the Caribbean.
He holds graduate degrees from the US, Canada and the United Kingdom including a Doctorate in Management and Organization (Stirling University, Scotland); and a Graduate Diploma in International Development (London School of Economics and Political Science).
Dr. Robertson has published more than sixty peer-reviewed articles on workforce readiness, international business, quality management and the future of work.
Kathy Miller
Moderator
Kathy Miller works for Radio Cayman 89.9FM as an Account Executive, is the morning show host of the Business Buzz programme and producer of the financial talk show, Money Sense. She is also the founder of Momentum Media Group- a boutique agency offering creative services in traditional and digital marketing, public relations, media production and content creation.
In February, Kathy was elected as Vice Chair in the Cayman Islands Marketing Professionals Association, also known as CIMPA.
She has over 20 years of combined experience in sales and marketing, broadcasting, public relations, publishing, media and audio production, freelance writing, and event coordination.
Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Digital Marketing from Anglia Ruskin University, UK; and a Certificate in Digital Marketing from the Institute of Data & Marketing, UK.
