Event Details
Join the Cayman Islands Astronomical Society for an evening of stargazing from 6:30pm at Public Beach (grassy area near the playground).
This special event is timed to give the public the best opportunity to view comet C2022e3(ZTF) through a telescope.
The comet will be almost directly overhead at sunset, and the bright full moon will not rise until after 7:15pm – so this is a real “sweet spot” to see the comet in dark skies during “normal” hours.
Jupiter, Venus and Mars will also be visible as well as a whole host of amazing other stellar objects.
All are welcome and the event is totally free. The event will be cancelled if there is more than 50% cloud cover, so check the Astronomical Society Facebook event page and website at cias.space for the latest updates.
